    这一天

    早上六点被闹钟叫醒, 披星带月, 赶到学校等韩国人来接我. 今天是灾难一周的开始, DFT在Cambridge的Hyatt开, 老板是组织者, 于是每天要7点到Hyatt坐台...没有车, Hyatt方圆一麦之内没有地铁站, 只好一早起床出门..出门的时候, 还下无比大的雨, 穿着皮鞋在雨中啪啪啪...
    日出前的学校, 少见...
     
    关于日出, 今天当伊朗大姐得知我6点就出门的时候, 随口说了声, 今天日出7点45, 你怎么那么早出门...当时还纳闷为什么她那么清楚日出的时间, 后来发现她不吃中饭才意识到..感情这个月是斋月...
     
    Hyatt是个好酒店, 就在Charles River边, 老板在11楼租了个无敌江景房放他的书啊打印机啊什么的...真是浪费...会开始前一直和意大利老板聊米兰, 说那个大锅鸡吧, 全意大利都是他的enemy...
     
    开场的Invited Talk是一个韩国人, 韩国老板找来的, 他同学, 据说是三星集团全球11个Fellow之一, 三星液晶显示部门的最高人物, 很搞笑的一个人...结果下午吃饭的时候, 老板突然来了一句, Sheng, 想不想去韩国工作半年? 工资可能没有在美国Intern工资高, 不过可以去玩玩...我说, 还是让你的几个韩国学生去吧..我实在是太讨厌韩国食品了...没有肉吃...天天泡菜, 回来就死了!
     
    丰盛的午饭后, 做了来美国以后第一个正式会议上的presentation. 今天的会议其实是DFT的一个Workshop, 到场的就三十多个人, 但好歹在坐的也很多full professor, 有俩还是当年套过瓷没理我的呢, 有一个, 我正在读他在CIT读书期间写的一篇巨长的paper...上去哗啦哗啦讲了十几分钟, 估计讲得太烂了, 讲完大家都雷在哪儿了, 没有人提问, 最后chair提了两个问题圆了圆场, 就把我放下来了..在台上做presentation的时候, 失语了几次, 不过总算是硬着头皮撑下来了, 乱讲总比讲着讲着没话说好吧...
     
    接下来, 发现那个700billion的bailout被众议院否决了, 韩国老板很气愤, 回来, 发现Dow Jones跌了777点, 史上最大跳水, 我考, 真的要考虑去三星工作了...
     
    后来会上还出了个花絮, 最后一个talk的那个以色列老奶奶的slides好像少了好几页...据说是带错了, 于是今天就草草结束了... 
    四点钟, 会议散场, 发现Charles River真是漂亮, 拍照以为记
     
    晚上老板们去Boston那家据说很华丽的中餐馆PF Chang吃饭了, 而我呢, 花了一小时从Hyatt回到家, 去GYM运动了两个小时, 精神抖擞, 躺着写space, 看PB, 看完PB看BL...
    今天最后悔的, 没在会场拍个照啥的, 白穿地那么整齐了...
     
    晚上好好睡觉, 周三周四还要坐两天台...祝大家国庆快乐!!!

    两张体操票

    大概就在中国女团拿冠军的那阵子在地铁上看到广告, 2008 Tour of Gymnastics Superstars Gymnastics, 美国体操队全美巡回表演, 10月26日, 在Boston TD Banknorth Garden. 当时还在犹豫, 是不是该去看 Shawn·土豆·Johnson 和 Nastia Liukin..毕竟这个票子最便宜也要三四十一张, 最近穷啊, 意外支出了一大笔钱, 又过上每个月盼着发工资的日子了..
     
    大概在半个月前, 在网上看到一个广告, 买$15以上的Ortega食品就可以免费拿两张Level 2的体操票, 于是一拍大腿, 去了!
    以下是 Shawn 的广告海报...就是海报里任何产品, 凑够$15, 拿两张票
     
    插播一则今天下午在老板办公室发生的真事
    背景, 一个韩国人在和韩国老板汇报他这周的research进展, 我在他们后面站着
    韩国人做了些东西, 还算有点进展吧, 然后韩国老板教育他说,
    ok, now you reached the climax, what u gonna do next
    然后意大利人在旁边偷笑, 然后来了句, think about something else...
    ....
    然后...爆笑...
     
    好了, 言归正传, 见完老板, 去搞体操票..
    先去了趟超市, 买了9盒每盒一块八的taco shells...(其实买完我就后悔了, 应该买些其它东西的)
    拎着九盒东西挤下班时间的地铁, 到了box office, 取票子的过程出奇地顺利, 没费什么口舌
    然后, 我试图拿回receipt回头去把这些shells退掉, 未遂...
     
    于是, 这一年不用买零食了, taco shells压碎了其实和薯片差不多的味道 -_-

    唉, 你说在balcony上看看姚明也就算了, 看Shawn Johnson...看得见么

    谈到足球, 那么就再多扯点..今天意甲一周双赛, 本单位在经历了惊心动魄的九十分钟后取得两连胜, 洗净脖子周末被大锅鸡血洗!

    一周双赛的收获是, 发现老板是米兰球迷...下午上课上着上着, 他突然不讲ppt了, 切换到一个网站, 说要看看意甲比分...说自己虽然不是米兰人, 但是是米兰球迷云云 -_-这个事情说明了一个问题, 不是所有的意大利人都是老太婆球迷! 然后看到米兰领先, 很开心, 提前下课了, 结果我走回实验室一看, 1-1了..而且大博好像受伤下场了? 好好养吧, 反正电话门以来我们就没赢过大锅鸡了, 上不上前锋都无所谓了..不输六个就算赢!

    美国已经彻底没有希望了

    看地我心情澎湃不能自己, 今天下午老板的课一直在傻笑

    农村人, 想去大城市

    买买提上看了一贴子, 说扭腰和上海的区别, 于是到帖子的出处, 也就是NewYork版, 结果进门咣地一声就看到这个帖子

    我住在宾州，7月份去纽约玩，上了一辆地铁，没空调，不知道规矩，就从中间直接到了

    靠, 这个大城市和农村就是不一样, 地铁里乱动还吃ticket?
    另外, 还听说扭腰的地铁没有空调? ...
    不过扭腰地铁有一点比我们这农村好的, 就是有厕所..我不止一次在Boston地铁上看到酒鬼就地解决的了...
    但是, 据说扭腰最近因为安全问题把地铁站的厕所全关掉了? 完蛋了, 城市堕落了!
     
    来美国一年了, 还没去过大城市, 十分向往扭腰, 向往扭腰那全美国最脏的福建小吃最多的chinatown.
